Partner Toolkit
Thank you for your interest in the American School Bus Council's public education program advocating the increased use of school bus transportation in your community. The materials on this page have been designed to provide you with a "toolkit" of resources specifically designed to engage school children and parents in educational outreach about the school bus. We have also included materials to help with your efforts to generate media coverage in your community.
As you know, school buses are, by far, the safest vehicles on the road, with a safety record confirmed by government authorities to be better than any other form of transportation. School buses are designed and constructed with more safety features than any other vehicle, and the school transportation industry works continually to incorporate the latest technology, training and testing to keep school buses safe.
As the country's single largest transportation system, each day more than 480,000 school buses transport more than 26 million children to and from school. Unfortunately, although an American icon, the yellow school bus is often underappreciated for the safe, reliable and convenient service it provides to millions of families, and for ensuring that America's children have access to an education.
It is for that reason that the American School Bus Council is actively engaging local community partners in an effort to help educate parents, children and local school officials about the value and benefits of the yellow school bus.
